Statistics: Russia’s annual inflation speeds up to 3.5% in Oct
MOSCOW, Nov 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s annual inflation accelerated to 3.5% in October from 3.4% in September, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Tuesday.
In monthly terms, inflation sped up to 0.4% in October from 0.2% in September.
In January–October, consumer prices grew 2.9%. Food prices increased 0.6% in October and 1.9% in January–October, while prices for food excluding fruit and vegetables went up 0.7% in the month and 2.9% in the period.
Average retail prices for gasoline rose 0.4% on the month in October and 9.3% in January–October.
Under the Economic Development Ministry’s latest forecast, Russia’s inflation will reach 3.4% in 2018, while the central bank earlier projected it at 3.5–4%.
